The "Great Room" from the lake The original lodge/camp was comprised of the yellow area with the green shutters (top left of picture). Barb and Alec worked with what they had and, along with their builder, did an amazing job of incorporating the new kitchen-dining area and "great room" into a form and function that is almost seamless with the old camp.
The Great Room Its simple elegance makes it sensationally "Adirondacky." The warmth and beauty of this room is only enhanced when Barbara and Alec are present.
Barbara and Alec discuss some future plans for their home. The front door can be seen behind the green love seat. To the left of the door (as you walk in) is the stairway that takes you to Barbara's office (above) with its balcony overlooking the "great room." The Wainscoting is from the over 100 year old year old lodge. It was first removed from the lodge and placed in the cellar until cleaned and used for the renovation and new construction of their home. |
