Sherman's (Early 60's)

My father would tie a rope to the rear bumper of our car and tow us, sitting on a toboggan, down the Lake Shore Rd. What a ball as we  caromed up and down the huge snow banks on each side of the road!

Ice fishing was a blast, here on Caroga. The "blast" was the incredibly cold wind that blew across the ice while you chased down the 15 "tip-ups" as the fish started to hit.

Ice Shacks on W. Caroga

Some of the old timers got smart and started dragging their outhouses onto the lake, fishing through the seat. If you had a two-seater you doubled your chances of catching fish! If nature called you could sit on one while fishing through the other! I said sit!
