Sherman's Penny Arcade Remember the noise and excitement of entering the Penny Arcade with that intimidating "throne" of the "money-changer"? The ever so special pictures taken in the picture booth just inside the Arcade for only a quarter! The air gun hockey game in front of the "throne." Remember the shock from the shock machine, where the more you twisted the knobs the heavier the shock you received. The baseball games where you swung a "real" bat to hit a ball that rolled down the pitchers chute. The first rifle game around, anywhere, where you shot the bear climbing a tree. The "gun" had a light in it and you had to hit the "light hole" on the bear. If you did, "grooowl"! How 'bout those old "cranking movie machines"? For only a penny you could crank Charlie Chaplain so fast he'd go nuts! |
