Kelly
and Michelle, my daughters, with Gail Irish at Sherman's dance hall.
(1975)
Remember the great bands and huge crowds that danced on this floor. Can't you
feel the cool breeze, mixed with the smell of popcorn, coming through
those windows? Hope you enjoy this big band sound of yesteryear.
Ted Kitler,
who owned Camp Irene on Garlock Road, says, "Dancing at Sherman's
Pavilion, at 10 cents a dance for (3) sets, was the epitome of pleasure derived.
Who would ever go with a date to Sherman's when he could dance with 50 girls on
a week-end?"

Getting
Sentimental?
Many of you have fond memories of this dance floor. People from all over the
Northern N.Y. would converge at "Caroga" on Saturday nights.
Have a fabulous time dancing - all without one drop of booze. Gotta hand it to
Frank. He ran a good show.
Hopefully, I'll find some older pictures of the "Dancing at Caroga."
If you have any, send them to me!
