Remember the covered balcony (on the left)  and the gentle lapping of the waves on the rocks below. What a great place to begin a morning in Caroga.  Coffee tasted so much better here.

You looked out over the lake, lulled to sleep by the dance music of the night before, and watch it slowly awaken stretching its waves higher on the rocks.

In the evening, looking out the windows of the dance hall, the dancing reflection of the moon on the lake seemed to keep time with the music.

I can remember many a warm summer night fishing about 100 yards out from Sherman's. Sitting in an old rowboat the scene was surreal, almost incongruous.

Here I was fishing,  pulling up bullheads, swatting black flies, sticking slimy night crawlers on a hook. All with the subdued lights from the pavilion, Merry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel and Midway reflecting like a Tiffany lamp on the lake -  Not to mention the music from the big bands drifting over me. It was, now that I think about it, an incredible scene and experience. Like being in church and Disney Land at the same time.

I was out on a lake in the Adirondacks fishing and, at the same time,  had a front "row boat" seat to what I called the "Caroga Fishing Concert" on the lake. Always caught a load of bull-heads when the bands were playing to!

Can't get better than that. I miss it.  So, no doubt, do you that have been there.
