Sherman's Midway (1985)

Remember The Good Times?

The sights and sounds of the Shooting Gallery, Merry-Go-Round, the ringing of the bell on the, hmmm, forgot what you called it.  I'll call it the sledge hammer game that was between the cotton candy stand and Throw the Hoops  game. We "mighty men" tried to prove something to our sweethearts, or was it ourselves, by ringing the bell.

Remember the little plastic ducks that you plucked out of the water to see if you won a prize by looking at the bottom of it. The screams of those on the Ferris Wheel and Tilt-A-Whirl.....

The racket of the Whip. The buzzing and banging of the Scooter Cars with sparks flying where the electronic shoe touched the metal ceiling?....

The smell of popcorn, peanuts, candy apples. The tantalizing aroma of roast beef and French fries drifting out of Bill and Ron Morris' restaurant in the pavilion.

Remember the brightly painted booths? On one side of the restaurant you sat looking out the windows seeing the hubcaps of cars going down the road. On the other side sunset over Caroga. Got'a watch where ya sit! :)

Tommy Devine calling the Bingo games to the HUGE crowds that played almost everyday. Tony Melita's "Creamy Whip" ice cream.  Crazy George, standing up in the dangerously swinging car,  at the top of the Ferris Wheel.

Yes, those were the good times,  but hang in there and remember that  today will be tomorrows "good times." It better be, or I'm gonna be ticked! :)
